Chris Gorman is a highly experienced Drone Photographer and Videographer with over 30 years experience as a picture editor and photographer. His beautifully crafted drone images have appeared in publications globally including regular front pages of The Times and Daily Telegraph to The New Zealand Herald, German Newspaper Bild as well as featuring in Hollywood blockbuster movies.
Arguably the biggest game changer in photography since the advent of digital. Creative drone use transforms photography with dynamic storytelling and video techniques enabling high-angle perspectives including top-down shots, sweeping orbit shots, dramatic reveal shots from behind objects and cinematic tracking of movement.
A drone is a camera that can go anywhere, any perspective is now possible. It isn’t just about how high you can go its the ability to position a camera where a photographer on the ground cannot reach.

Nyetimber Vineyard Harvest
January 2020 Technology: DJI Mavic 2 Pro
An image shot for England Sparking Wine maker Nyetimber. The brief was to create an image for use in press, illustrating the yearly grape harvest.
Chris’ knowledge as a national newspaper picture editor really comes into play here. There is no real news hook to get this subject published, only a visually unusual image will capture the picture editors eye. This is afterall essentailly a PR shoot.
The drone perspective here supplies the different perspective needed to take the shoot away from the traditional PR shoot and turn it into something “artistic” with clever choreographed use of shadows.
The resulting image appeared on the front of the Daily Telegraph Business section.

Always on the lookout for weather images the patterns of gardens captured with just a little elevation tells a unique story. This image appeared in The Daily Telegraph and The Times.
BUde Christmas Swim
Shot on Christmas Day 2022 this image is a great example of a drone camera being able to capture scenes that a person on the ground cannot reach.
Arundel Castle Tulip Festival
April 2025 Technology: DJI Mavic 4 Pro
An image taken at Arundel Castle Tulip Festival in West Sussex.
Taken as a press image with the knowledge that the event had already been captured by several photographers before. therefore creating something different was the only way to gain any publication.
The low early morning sun creating beatifully contoured shadows, shapes that can only be truly captured with the aerial perspective of a drone.
The resulting image appeared in various meida outlets.
Hambledon Cricket
July 2018 Technology: DJI Mavic 2 Pro
I was aware of the potential images that could be created utilising shadows. This image was produced with the assistance of the players involved who were happy to have a brief practice session for my drone. This resulted in me capturing an actual wicket, the first ever by drone.
This image appeared in The Times Newspaper.
